Part of my time at Kingston University in 2018-2019 included writing articles for a student-led online news site: the Kingston Courier. The pieces were written for digital production using CMS tools and relevant SEO processes. The site publishes news about Kingston upon Thames but also features relevant topics around London, sport and international news. Click below to see more.

While reporting at the Kingston Courier, I was also the social media editor of various social media platforms this local news website had. My role included creating and sharing content to increase engagement and promote stories.

Additionally, we created a supplement for the journalism department's print newspaper: The River. The Supplement was a group effort, created by a dedicated team. I assisted with subbing, editing, writing, layout and any technical issues. The supplement was called "Mindful" and was about mental health.

Two articles I wrote for the Mindful supplement

Still on print, we also assisted as foreign correspondents to create a French/English magazine on Brexit. While working together we produced some English articles for the Latitudes magazine.

See the article I wrote below - Goodbye European Union, hello Commonwealth?

During my master's course, my major module was Broadcast Journalism, giving me audio and video editing skills. Here are two packages. The first is a radio package that tells of the upsurge of electric personal transport and how it can offer a solution to Londoners who need to travel that “last mile” to and from work. The second is a television package about changing the game of old-style crafts with new-age media. Social media provides a platform for both artisanal hobbyists and business owners to showcase and sell their work, discover tricks of the trade, and be inspired by the community.
